After the Senior Day loss, the Buckeyes look to finish out the regular season with one more match up against Northwestern (at home) and Michigan State (at Michigan State).
Soon after that it's on to tournament madness! Let's get on with the Bits.
NFL Combine Is Surprising, At Least. Former Buckeyes Mike Adams, Michael Brewster, Dan Herron and DeVier Posey completed their work at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis over the weekend.
Adams, produced one of the most disappointing performances, with 19 reps on the bench press to go along with a terrible 5.40 mark in the 40-yard dash, even though it might not mean too much, being an offensive lineman. Brewster put up 29 reps on the bench and clocked a 5.35 40 at 6'2", 312.
Herron clocked a 4.66 in the 40, which is not as good as he was hoping for as a running back.
Posey turned in a 4.50, which doesn't really seem to be accurate in my opinion. Interestingly enough, Posey's unofficial time was a 4.37 40. You have to wonder which is his real true speed.
Lady Bucks Aren't So Bad Either. The Ohio State Women's basketball team heads into the B1G Tournament after earning a #2 seed. They will play at 11:30am on Friday against the winner of #7 Michigan and #10 Illinois. They look to make their case for the NCAA Tournament to make a run at the National Title.
The B1G Loves The Pac 12, And Vice Versa. The relationship of the Big Ten and the Pac 12 continues to grow with the love between Jim Delany and Larry Scott, the commissioners of the aforementioned conferences. Now Scott is backing the B1G up on the playoff picture:
"As for the potential playoff format, Scott agreed with the position of the Big Ten, first reported by The Chicago Tribune, which favored home sites for the semifinal games and a neutral site for the championship game. After a number of discussions with the N.F.L., Scott said, following its model made sense.
“There’s a reason that in the N.F.L. they only play the Super Bowl as a neutral-site game,” he said. “There’s a reason they play playoffs and A.F.C. and N.F.C. championships with home hosting.”
Scott added that the Pac-12 chose a campus-hosting model for its title game because he felt it would create the best atmosphere. Fans, he said, would be unlikely to travel to two neutral sites in 10 days."
